  Martin Newth was born in Manchester in 1973. He studied at Newcastle University and the Slade School of Art. His work includes film and installation as well as photographic work in which he employs numerous processes including very long exposures and purpose built camera obscuras. He has exhibited nationally and internationally including solo and group exhibitions at: MEWO Kunsthalle, Germany; George and Jørgen, London; Axel Lapp Projects, Berlin; Focal Point Gallery, Southend; Ffotogallery, Cardiff; Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool; and the Kunstverein Konstanz, Germany.
Martin is the Head of the School of Fine Art at the Glasgow School of Art. He lives and works in London and Glasgow.
